Tyrannosaurus rex was one of Earth’s most massive predators, and its name — tyrant lizard king — evokes destiny. But was the ascent of tyrannosaurs to the top of the food chain inevitable?


Join paleontologist Dr. Lindsay Zanno as she reveals what new dinosaur discoveries from the dawn of the Cretaceous are teaching us about the fame and fortune of T. rex and its favorite meal… Triceratops.


About the Speaker: Lindsay Zanno is the head of paleontology at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and an Associate Research Professor at North Carolina State University. Her science blends field explorations around the globe with cutting-edge technologies to reconstruct the lost world of the dinosaurs — from reproduction, diet, and growth to the impact of climate change.
